About the Adhyayana Kendra

Shankara Adhyayana Kendra is the brainchild of Sri K Nataraj, retired officer from the Ministry of Defence and an English Professor, resident of Sanjaynagar, Bangalore. It was formed in May 2003 as a Center to spread the awareness about Indian Philosophy and promote Carnatic Classical Music.

Review - Flute Recital - May 26th 2007

Kendra had organised a Carnatic Flute Recital Concert by

It was a well planned concert presented by the team, starting off with the prized Atta tAla varNam in bhaIravI - viribONi, followed by a composition of pApanAsam sivan on lord Ganesha in srIranjani. kAmbodi was chosen for an elaborate rendition of rAga, nerval, swaraprastAram and thani Avartanam for Sri thyAgarAja's evari mAta vinnavO. The concluding items of the concert were purandara dasa's devaranama in sindhubhaIravi - tambUri mEtidava, swati tiruNaL's tillana and mangaLam.

The concert was very well attended and received by the audience.
